Cheap Trick may be one of the most covered bands of all time. Since the mid-70s, they've been blending elements of pop, punk and even metal in a way that is instantly catchy and recognizable. Having released such timeless classics as "I Want You to Want Me", "Surrender”, “Dream Police”, “Voices” and "The Flame", they are a music institution. With more than 20 million records sold, 5,000 performances, 40 Gold & Platinum recording awards and 29 movie soundtracks, Cheap Trick has proven that perseverance and commitment creates longevity.
In addition to ranking #25 on VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, they have been honoured by the Chicago Chapter of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) for their contributions to the music industry. To celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary in 2014, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles has launched Cheap Trick: I Want You to Want Me! … a one-of-a-kind exhibit that features such artifacts as several guitars played by Rick Nielsen and costumes worn on the album cover of Dream Police as well as original song lyrics, photographs and tour ephemera. The new year will also see the band gearing up for their Canadian tour which will include a one-night performance at the River Rock Casino Resort on March 1, 2014.
