The Trailer Park Boys have become a Canadian pop culture phenomenon that has now grown into international success. The television series, Trailer Park Boys which was created by Mike Clattenburg premiered in April, 2001 and focusses on the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents living in fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park located near Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. The series remains a huge success on Showcase and has been broadcast worldwide including in the US where BBC America aired a censored version of the show. In 2006, Trailer Park Boys: The Movie was released and was the highest grossing film in Canada for its first weekend in release. And just last month, they released their second feature film, Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day. The Ricky, Julian and Bubbles Community Service Variety Show is a live theatre show performed, in character, by Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay and Mike Smith. The show is born out of the premise that Ricky, Julian and Bubbles are in the audience’s hometown to fulfill court ordered community service requirements by performing a puppet show aimed at demonstrating the dangers of using alcohol and drugs. The Ricky, Julian and Bubbles Community Service Variety Show will take place at the River Rock Casino Resort in January, 2010.
