Chicago has done it all … five consecutive #1 albums, thirteen platinum albums, twenty-one Top 10 singles, a Grammy and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Formed in their namesake city in 1967, Chicago’s music mixed rock, pop, and jazz in a completely new way. Propelled by innovative horn arrangements, the band’s commercial potential was soon apparent when in 1970, the band hit the charts with its first single, “Make Me Smile.” Hits to follow included the Grammy-winning “If You Leave Me Now,” “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?,” “Beginnings,” “Colour My World,” “Saturday In The Park,” “Just You ’N’ Me,” “Old Days,” “Baby, What A Big Surprise,” “Hard To Say I’m Sorry,” “Hard Habit To Break,” “You’re The Inspiration,” "I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love," "Look Away” and the group’s signature “25 Or 6 To 4.” In a career both influential and extensive, Chicago is the first American band to chart a Top 40 album in five consecutive decades. The group has sold more than 100 million records and continues to tour every year to SRO audiences. In 2007, the band became a member of an exclusive and exceptionally talented club of artists when the National Association of Recording Merchandisers bestowed them with the Chairman’s Award for “Sustained Creative Achievement” during the organization’s 49th Annual Convention in Chicago. This month, Chicago will release their newest album, Stone of Sisyphus on Rhino Records … the album which was actually recorded in 1993 was to be released the following year but was shelved by Warner Records will feature four bonus tracks as well. And in October, the band will be performing for two exclusive shows at both the River Rock Casino Resort’s Show Theatre and the Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre.
