CANCELLED!! Due to his untimely passing, George Carlin’s two shows scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2008 have been cancelled. Tickets can be refunded at point of purchase.
For five decades, the Grammy award-winning comedian, actor and author, George Carlin has been making audiences laugh and think with his salty, provocative style of stand-up comedy. He is most famous for his early 1970’s routine known as "The Seven Dirty Words You Can Never Say on Radio and TV." Carlin began his comedy career on the radio and in the Los Angeles nightclubs in the early '60s and went on to make numerous appearances on television sitcoms and talk shows. He emerged in the '70s as a Grammy-winning comic known for his wordplay and social commentary on his records albums, FM & AM and Class Clown both of which were released in 1972. Additional albums include A Place for My Stuff (1981) and Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics (1990). He has written three New York Times’ best-selling books including Braindroppings (1997) and Napalm and Silly Putty (2001) and as well, he’s appeared in such feature films as Car Wash (1976), Outrageous Fortune (1987) and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) along with several Kevin Smith comedies including Dogma (1999) and Jersey Girl (2004). To date, Carlin’s thirteen HBO specials have garnered three Emmy nominations and won six CableACE awards. Last year to celebrate the anniversary of his fifty years in show business, MPI Home Video released the ultimate DVD Box Set, “George Carlin: All My Stuff” which features twelve of his HBO stand-up specials. Today Carlin still manages to perform close to 100 shows throughout North America each year and will be returning to the River Rock Casino Resort for two shows in November.
