Lovitz got his first real break in 1985 when he joined the cast of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” for five seasons where he became known for his many characters including “Tommy Flanagan,” “Master Thespian” and “The Devil.” He later appeared in over thirty movies including Big, A League of their Own, The Wedding Singer, Small Time Crooks and Rat Race. Lovitz also became well known for his distinctive voice having done the lead voice of the character “Jay Sherman” in the acclaimed cult cartoon series “The Critic” which aired on ABC in 1994 and then on FOX in 1995. In addition, he has done voiceovers for several animated features including “Cats and Dogs” and “Eight Crazy Nights.” He appeared on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre in Neil Simon’s play “The Dinner Party” taking over the lead from Henry Winkler and sung at Carnegie Hall three times as well as with English rock star, Robbie Williams, at the Royal Albert Hall and also appeared on his album, Swing While You’re Winning. He was the first famous guest star to appear on “Friends” and guest starred as “Gary Fogel” on “Seinfeld” the very same week. Then in 1998, he joined the cast of “NewsRadio” in the role of “Max Lewis” for its final season.
